"A Salute to the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation"

Watercolors by Julianne Sooley

On display through April 30, 2021

Artist Statement
In this tribute to the Laguna Foundation, now in its 30th year, Julianne has captured the color, shape and texture of the Laguna environs. Her 25+ paintings and pyrography (wood burning) focus on architectural elements: a broken window, part of a tractor against the barn; a bird cut from the same metal used on the roof; the 2019 floodwaters.

Artist Biography
Julianne and Mike Sooley moved to Santa Rosa upon retirement in 2010, after an extensive search to find the perfect place to live. Julie then began pursuing her passion, art, and in particular, watercolors. As she has refined her style, she has shown her work in juried shows with the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Arts Guild of Sonoma, and The Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County, and won several poster design contests.
